Recycling of household goods is an important and popular activity for most residents in this area, but the trend doesn’t seem to have affected mainstream construction industry. A recent article in the Hook reveals treasures often found in construction dumpsters and why they’re common. The article also suggests a few strategies for minimizing construction waste. You can find the article online at: www.readthehook.com/stories/2008/01/31/ONARCH-0705.rtf.aspx.
Members of the Builders’ Guild will have the opportunity to coordinate recycling of construction waste with other projects underway at Bundoran Farm. By consolidating recyclable waste materials, builders can generate quantities that economically justify pick up and delivery. This will also make it easier to donate reusable materials to non-profit community groups, who will use them improve the local housing stock.
