How Green are the primary candidates?

Today, Tuesday, February 5, the largest number of state U.S. presidential primary elections in the history of U.S. primaries will take place simultaneously. For that reason, this year’s Super Tuesday has been promoted to Tsunami Tuesday or Giga Tuesday by the media.Given the importance of several “Green” issues in the coming years, such as clean air and water, environmental protection of wild places, climate change and renewable energy, each candidate’s environmental record deserves extra scrutiny.

To help voters with their decision, the League of Conservation Voters offers a 2008 Presidential Primaries Voter Guide summarizing the presidential primary candidates’ environmental priorities. Unlike in years past, this voter guide focuses on each candidate’s plans to address climate change and move America towards a clean, renewable energy future.

The voter guide is available online at http://www.lcv.org/voterguide/.
