We somehow managed to finish both upper gables today–in spite of a torrential rainstorm and the window delivery–both of which we appreciated but delayed our workday almost a couple of hours because the crew was crazy enough to want to finish–which I of course enabled but continuing to cut for them even though we were all exhausted. The shiplap has turned out beautifully and we are extremely pleased.
We bought some very fancy steaks and are going to grill them on the rebar-beque (made of five #4 rods of rebar) over an open pit fire….sounds too good to be true….just to sit and enjoy the evening before passing out for the night.
These guys are amazing…we hope to be finished with the siding tomorrow with only the front upper face above the porch and the cupola remaining….
