Here at Bundoran Farm we are fortunate to have so many specific habitats, that we are host to hundreds of bird species. Near Lake Scogo you will find numerous waterfowl, including geese and wood ducks. Red Winged Blackbirds enjoy the reeds and grassy habitat in the emerging wetlands. Raptors, such as this Red Tail Hawk find abundant prey within the pastures and along the creek banks. Bluebirds have filled nearly all of the hundred or so bluebird boxes that have been erected throughout the property, while goldfinches enjoy perching on fence rows and gathering small seeds among from the meadow flowers that proliferate in the pastures .
These are but a few of our feathered friends that call Bundoran Farm home for at least a part of the year. Many others are harder to photograph, such as the elusive Scarlet and Summer Tanagers, and other deep forest birds, yet their songs are unmistakable.
