In a recent article in the May 7th edition of Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors publication, Real Estate Weekly, there is a well thought out feature article about farms and estates in the Albemarle County / Charlottesville area written by Joanne Dimaggio — Farms and Estates Offer a Bleand Of Beauty and Lifestyle.
For those of us who live here now, we sometimes can forget about how great this place is, what brought here in the first place and why we want to stay here. I guess we just take it for granted. It was nice to read the article and be reminded how nice we have it. Key reasons mentioned for wanting to purchase and live on a country property in the Charlottesville/Albemarle County include:
- the natural beauty of the area
- the availability of great medical care provided by the University of Virginia and Martha Jefferson Hospital
- the proximity to Washington, DC and Richmond
- the electic mix of people — ages, backgrounds and interest
- all the cultural and sporting activities available through the University of Virginia
- the relaxed lifestyle
- the proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains
- great restaurants
Bundoran Farm is also spotlighted in the article. Jim Faulconer, a Charlottesville native and leading real estate broker in the area is quoted as saying ” One of the things I hope will happen in the development may course of Bundoran Farm (a preservation development where over 90% of the 2,300 acres are protected landscape) but will allow axproximately 100 families or individuals to live on the farm. Bundoran Farm is a model development. We’re hoping if all goes well, we’re hoping that type of development will take precedence over the kind of strip development we’ve seen over so many years”.
Let us know what makes the Charlottesville – Albemarle County area so special for you and your family.
